Domaine Lafoy Cote Rotie Cote Blonde 2020

An estate who's wines are rarely seen outside of Europe, Domaine Lafoy is a true family affair: Jocelyn & Yves founded their small winery over thirty years ago in the town of Ampuis, and today, son Gaëtan has taken the reins.

Gaëtan uses organic practices in the vineyards, which are mostly mica schist soils which offer up wines that are more powerful and tannic. Côte Blonde is one of the most important sites in Côte Rôtie: its granitic soils and southeast facing slopes lends itself to an aromatic, elegant expression of Syrah, especially with more Viognier blended in. The 2020 vintage is considered to be excellent.
